Cattle, Lemming, Toaster… Is That What Your Are?

No?  I didn't think so.  I am asking because if you aren't any of those things why are you going to go get your senior portraits done as if you were?  What do I mean you ask?  For the last eleven years you have lined up at school for school pictures and how have they turned out?  Don't you want something a little more personal for your senior portraits?  Something that is a little more about you, that shows just who you are.  After next summer you will be out on your own, away from home and at school, work or possibly in the armed forces.  Do you want to be remembered for a picture done in the school gym just like everyone else?  Do your parents want to look at another one of those school pictures or do you want to have fun, look great and have a senior portrait experience that is all about you?  What do you really want?

Last week we had a call from an upcoming senior who said that everyone around here just did the same old things for their senior portraits and he wanted something different.  He had ideas of props and locations and we worked to find the best time of day for the session and were able to get something unique to him and his personality.  Just remember, over the next year we will do less senior sessions than your school photographer does in one week.  I am not saying anything bad about the school photographers, what I am saying is how can you expect to get something special and unique when you are being herded through the gym with everyone else?  We don't run an assembly line at Bentley Photography, we try to make it a one on one special time just for you.

Give us a call, give us your ideas and lets see what we can come up with that is special for you!

Graduation Day

It's finally here!  The day you have been waiting for for all of these years is here.  You are about to graduate and move on to the next chapter of your life.  This is a time that many of you have been thinking would never come and you have a lot of big dreams and plans ahead of you.

Today at lunch we were talking about the Winder Barrow graduation tonight and Apalachee tomorrow and everyone we know who is graduating.  Leslie made the comment that it would be hard to go back to graduation because it would be so sad for her.  When we asked why she said that it was the last time she saw a lot of people who graduated with her and it made her miss her high school days.  Looking back I can see a lot of truth in what she said.  My graduation was the last time I have seen a lot of the people I went to school with.  So when you are getting ready to go to graduation and going through all of the lining up, proceeding in and waiting to hear your name being called, be sure and look around at all of your friends and take it all in.  Enjoy every minute of it, say your goodbyes, take lots of pictures and have fun!

This is just the end of one chapter of your life.  Now it is time to move onto the next chapter.  You will be moving away from home to school or work and hopefully you are ready for the next step in your life.  Enjoy these moments and cherish the memories.

And Congratulations to all of you!!

First Day Out Of School Trip

Yesterday was our daughters first day out of school for the summer so we went on a little trip.  With our Senior Safari coming up soon we needed to do a quick drive through to check out the times it would take to get everywhere and find a place for lunch that day.  So that is what we did yesterday.

The first stop will be a quick one and will be really different from anything we have ever done before, you'll have to find out more about it when you see it.  Then we will be on to our second stop, where we will have lunch, and then photograph a nice green outdoor location.  After lunch and doing photography there we will be going to our last destination where we will spend a good bit of time.  The safari will basically be three unique places with a lot of different locations to photograph.  On this years Safari we will be assisted by a complete crew that will be there to help us with lights and equipment.  You will feel like you are on a Hollywood production.

On yesterday's scouting trip we took a few images of Mallory for you to see just a little of what you will get to see and do.  The Safari is on June 11th, just three weeks from yesterday, and we would love for you to go with is.  If you are interested call the studio and we can tell you more about what to bring and get you booked for the trip.  We will be leaving at 9 AM on that day and we will be back to Winder by around 6:30 PM or so.

How Did You Know I Was A Senior?

IMG_5752

Every year is a new beginning for senior portraits and with every new class comes the challenge of getting names and addresses.  Since being a senior in high school only happens one time, the names change every year.  The way we are able to get names and addresses is to order them from mailing list companies and by using senior models.  We have several senior models in different schools who passed around notebooks collecting names and addresses for us.  Each senior model collected 75 or more names and we combine those names with the list we purchase for our mailing list.  All in all we come up with a little over 2000 names and addresses.  The big drawback is that we have a lot more than 2000 seniors in the areas we advertise in and the addresses we purchase, many times, aren't accurate or have misspelled names.  One thing that is very frustrating for us is that our own daughter wasn't even on the list we purchased this year and we have been living in the same place all of her life. Needless to say, the accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. The problem with this is that some people who don't need information about senior portraits might get something and those who did need to know might not get anything.

Hopefully you've gotten a postcard and a catalog from us and now you know just how it found you.  We hope to see you this summer and get to personally know you while we capture some great senior portraits for you.

Senior Safari Booking Now

Safari 2

After last weekend's safari we are really excited about our next one coming up on June 11th!  This year we have planned another Safari that will take us to north Georgia for the entire day.  We have three unique stops planned along the way for three very different looks for your senior portraits.  The first stop is an old salvage yard with some big surprises that you would not expect to see in senior pictures! Definitly a unique look! Our second stop will be in a beautiful little mountain town where we will photograph everyone in some streetscapes and have lunch before going to our final destination at an old mill.  This will be the highlight of the trip.  Last year our Safari sessions were a huge hit and our seniors came back with some of the most amazing images that no one else had.  We are really excited about this year's locations.

Due to time and transportation limitations we can only accept 6 seniors for the Safari and people are already asking about it!  Don't delay! Remember, at least 3 locations, transportation, lunch and snacks are included in the session fee.  It will be like getting three or four sessions all rolled into one fun day!

What did some of last years senior say about their Safari experience?

"It was so much fun!" – Brianna, Dacula High School

"I enjoyed meeting new people, and having senior pictures that are unlike anyone elses.  THANK YOU!" -Shannan, Apalachee High School

"All the ideas, poses and backgrounds are more unique than any other photographer I've ever seen!  I LOVE THEM!  We had so much fun." "I liked having pictures taken that make you feel like it's going to be in a magazine!" – Victoria, Winder-Barrow High School

"I had a really good time today and I'm happy I went with you guys for my senior pictures." – Tori, Archer High School

"Today was awesome!  I feel like I really got some great pictures that fit my personality." – Kelsey, Winder-Barrow High School
