It's January, did you notice, and all of this snow and ice has me a little stir crazy. Over the past few months I have been wanting to do some new poses with some athletes and what better time than now. What we need is some people that are in good shape that play Volleyball, Football, Baseball, Swim, Wrestle, Track and Field, some other sport or just like to be in shape. The session will be short and fun I promise. We will be trying out some new poses and lighting techniques and I will make you famous, hopefully. If you are interested in doing something give us a call! You don't have to be a senior in high school, this is open to Juniors, Seniors or college age athletes, heck if you are a professional we would love for you to come too.

Oh, and if your team didn't get team posters done yet it isn't too late. We can still get a few teams in if you are interested, talk to your coaches and lets see what we can do this year.

Class of 2012 Model Search

It's official! The Class of 2012 Model Search is now underway! If you are going to be in the class of 2012 and are interested in being a model for Bentley Photography you can now apply. We will be choosing a limited number of models from each school so be sure and apply early. The model application can be found here, simply fill out the form and submit it and in a few weeks we will be contacting you to let you know more details.

Want to know more about the program? The Bentley Photography Senior Model program is a way for us to try out new poses and backgrounds for the upcoming senior class so that we can let them see what we can do. Each year we photograph a group of models and they help spread the word about Bentley Photography and how much fun it is to have your senior portraits done here. The models will have special coupons for friends so that their friends can save money and get free add-on's when they choose us for their senior portraits. For every coupon that we get back the senior model will get $ towards their senior portrait or family portrait order. Each model will get 3 FREE sessions, a Model session, a Senior session and a Family session! If you are chosen we will go over all of the other details at a special Model meeting that will be held in February.

Out With The Old – In With The New

It is hard to believe that it is almost 2011 already! Remember how every year it is so hard to get used to putting the new year on your checks in January? This year took me longer than usual, so I am sure 2011 will be worse than 2010 was. I hope you are enjoying your Christmas break. We are busy wrapping everything up around the studio and getting ready for next year this week. With the new year come plans for the next class of seniors and finding senior models for the studio. Also we never forget all of the seniors that we still haven't seen yet and what all we can offer them! Over the next couple weeks we will launch our "Class of 2012 Model Search" in full force so be sure and check back here often if you want to apply, or know of anyone else who might want to. This years model program will have a few new things that we are adding to it and it should be a lot of fun and beneficial to all that participate.

Every January I attend photography conferences and conventions and always come back with my brains overflowing with ideas for backgrounds, poses and locations as well as other ideas for things to do around the studio. I am really excited about this coming January and what it has in store for me. Now, with all that said when do you think a good time to get your senior portraits done would be? You got it – January, February and March. In those months we aren't as busy and we have more time and are ready to try some new stuff out. So if you are in the class of 2011 and want to do more, or you still haven't had your senior portraits done yet, that would be a good time to schedule something.

Still…

A question that I have been asked a lot lately – "Are you still doing senior portraits?". And the answer is – Yes! We are really having a lot of fun this time of year doing them too. One thing about this time of the year is that it is nowhere near as hot and we are not as rushed. What is the downside? The time change has really made a difference in when and were we can do outdoor photographs. Another exciting thing that has happened is that we have gotten five new backgrounds in the last month that I am just getting around to using. With all of that, and going to the seminar I went to last month, I have new ideas popping in my head everyday of things I want to do. So if you have been putting it off, or you thought it was too late, give us a call and lets work on something that shows the "real" you for your senior portraits. It's not too late!

Christmas List and Guitars

A week after doing Santa portraits it finally clicked with me that Christmas is just around the corner and we have to start Christmas shopping. It was funny how it happened, we were at lunch at Firehouse Subs and Chance said we need to start making a list so we can start shopping. Last night we even got an email with a list of things that Leslie wanted for Christmas. All of that happened in the same day! So now I am wondering just how many people are already getting there shopping done or already have a list of things you want? I can always come up with a list, but I am usually pretty conservative on my want list – you know like socks, shirts a sweater. What would I really want for Christmas? What would you want? What are the popular things this year?

A dream list for me – an iPad would be nice, a new MacBook Pro, a new boat (dream on), a Gary Fisher mountain bike, a new car (dream car since I was 15) or how about this car 🙂 (guess I'll keep the 12 year old Suburban and 8 year old Mini) and of course new clothes. I guess I will stick with the same old list again this year, or I will let you know what else I can come up with.
