Awards Keep Coming In

The year 2020 has been a trying year for many of us, but it did have it’s highlights. Several months ago Mike entered some images in the Georgia Professional Photographers Association (GPPA) competition.  The judging was held several weeks ago and we just got notification that several of his images won awards.  Usually they have a real convention along with the print competition and an awards banquet and of course this year things were different, and slower getting announced.  With all that has been going on it is so exciting to get this news!  Mike was awarded First Place in the Portrait Open category for a family portrait, First Place, Distinguished and Honors in the senior portrait category, one image received honors in the Fine Art Category and he received Best in Show in the portrait category.  Along with the awards he was also in the top 10 photographers in the state competition.  Several of these images have on our webpage, so you might have already seen them.  (This is a copy of what was posted on our Bentley Photography blog last Friday)

The senior images that received awards are First Place – Patrick from Jefferson High School, Distinguished – Madi from Winder-Barrow High School and Honors – Jaiden from Hebron Christian Academy.  First Place Portrait Open and Best of Show Portraits was of the Brown Family.

Living The Dream

Years ago we photographed Lynsey when she was just a little girl and we photographed her multiple times over the years.  Her family ended up moving away and when they would come back into the Athens area to visit family we would get to photograph her and her sisters.  This past summer we were so excited when she called about doing her senior portraits!  Her mom asked her where she wanted to go for these special photos and she chose Bentleys!!  We are so glad she did!  We love catching up with the kids we have photographed since they were babies.  Lynsey is someone with an infectious personality and the beauty that makes her a dream to just be around.  We loved hearing about her travels around the world and her family moving to Hawaii.  I am sure she can’t wait to go visit her parents for Christmas!  Lynsey is pole vaulting this year at North Greenville University and wants to someday be an athletic trainer.

These are just a few images from her studio and outdoor sessions.

The Day After The World Stopped

The world came to a screeching halt on Friday, March 13, 2020 for all but one.  We had scheduled Riley’s senior portraits for the morning of March 14th and after her session everything pretty much came to a standstill around the studio.  Riley was in the class of 2020 at WBHS and getting ready to graduate and go off to the University of North Georgia and we had been waiting for months to get her session in.  It was a cool March morning but you couldn’t tell it by looking at her portraits,  Riley was duel enrolled at NGCSU already and is now taking classes that will lead her to a Sports Medicine Physical Therapy degree.  Riley should be enjoying her new school right now and taking finals. Her favorite hobby is hiking and there are a lot of great places to hike near Dahlonega.

These are just a few from her outdoor  session we did that day, she had so many great images to choose from!

Abby OCHS

Want to meet your all American girl?  Meet Abby.  Abby is a senior this year at Oconee County High School where she plays varsity basketball, is in Beta club, FCA, plays lacrosse, is the Vice President of the student council, FFA president, NHS, Youth  General Assembly, is a Teen Oconee Volunteer and more!  We first photographed Abby when she was just a little girl and it was so fun to see where she is now.  Abby has such a positive and upbeat attitude that you just feel better being around her.   I have no idea what her plans are after high school, but I am sure this girl is going places and going to make the world a better place.
