You are only a senior once and many times when you are the first senior, or only senior, you and your parents aren’t sure when things are done. Like when do you get senior portraits taken? In most of the country senior portraits are taken during the summer between your junior and senior year of high school. Most schools require you to have your senior portraits done before school starts with the school photographer so they will have the photos for the yearbook. Yearbook ads are usually due during the first month of your senior year. So you have a lot to do this summer!
Having your senior portraits taken is an important milestone. Probably the last time you were professionally photographed was when you were a baby or a toddler and more than likely the next time you are photographed will be at your wedding. So it’s an important time in your life to document how you look , what your interests are and show who you are at this moment. Your parents and family also want to remember this time in your life. You are about to embark on the rest of your life and you will become a real adult making adult decisions for yourself and you will have a busy school and work schedule. You won’t be home a lot. They want to remember how you are right now before you are on your own. Ok, so that’s our parent side coming out, because we have been there when our girls graduated, but it’s true. And as happy as everyone is for you, there is a little bit of sadness and nostalgia that your childhood is coming to an end and adulthood is on the horizon. So take the time to do your senior portraits right. Not with someone who is rushing you through the system because they have to get it done for a yearbook deadline. Not with your best friend who got a camera recently and likes to take pictures or your friend’s mom who does her younger kid’s soccer pictures out of her van. We’ve been saying this for 25 years and we are still saying it! Come to Bentley’s. Let us show you what a great senior experience is and get portraits that you love and are proud to have hanging in your home.
