We get calls a lot asking how long we do senior portraits?  And is it too late to get my senior portraits taken?  Senior portraits are something that can be done anytime during your senior year from the summer before till you graduate.  Most people have them done in the summer before school starts.  A couple reasons are that you have more time during the summer and many people feel like they look better in the summer.  Another reason is that the yearbook deadlines are very soon after school starts back, so if you are getting an ad you will have time to get some portraits ready for it.  Also by having them done in the summer you will have wallets to give friends when school starts back.

So, the answer to the original question is – come when you have time and feel good.  Some people feel best in the fall and like the fall colors.  We have also done some beautiful images in the dead of winter and early spring.  If you like to hunt or ski you can bring in some props during the proper season to make the portraits look even better and show more about you.  Just remember, now that sports practices have started and sports start you have less free time in your day.

Don't let yourself fall into that category!  Wouldn't it be terrible to go through life not knowing how good your senior portraits could have been?  How about never having a good and fun experience having your portraits made.  Portraits, not pictures or snapshots you do for fun to put on your Facebook profile.  It is sad but lots of people are doing just that.  Marching in lines to have senior portraits done in the gym at school because they were told to.  Sorry, but where is the rebel in you, the since of pride in what you are and have accomplished.  As a parent have you always been happy with just having those school pictures?  Your kid's school days are fast coming to an end and they are about to be on there own, I would hate to think that the best portraits I had were the ones the school photographer did of my girls.  Are you a lemming or a rock star?

Sorry to break the news to you!  Can you believe that the summer is already almost over when it really just began.  We are having a fun summer with lots of road trip sessions.  We are also getting calls from seniors that have gotten our postcards but didn't get our catalog we sent back in May.  I hate it every year when this happens because the postcards don't really do justice to the images or tell you anything about us.  I am not sure what the solution would be to be sure everyone got the catalog too.  We mail them bulk and it seems like everyone doesn't get one for some reason, or they get thrown out before they get seen.

It might be late, but I have to tell you about a great opportunity that you can take advantage of for free!  Gainesville College and State University offers joint enrollment at the Gainesville, Watkinsville and Winder campuses.  So what is so great about that?  HOPE pays for everything for one thing.  You still go to your high school every day like normal and just leave early to go over to the college to take the classes you want.  You can get some of your college classes out of the way while you are still in high school and you don't have to pay for them.  Get Speach, Sociology, Psychology or some other class out of the way while you are still at home, and you only have to go a couple days a week.  WOW, what a deal!
